‘Sze Chi Ching and Wu Shu Min Learning Space’ named in honor of the Dr. Sze family
In a tribute to Dr. SZE Chi-Ching and his family’s generous gift, and in recognition of the family’s support, HKUST has named a learning facility at the ground floor of the Lee Shau Kee Library as the “Sze Chi Ching and Wu Shu Min Learning Space.”Dr. Sze and his four sons—Mr. Ivis Sze, Mr. Irons Sze, Mr. Ivan Sze, and Mr. Jaime Sze—were joined at the naming ceremony for the Sze Chi Ching and Wu Shu Min Learning Space on March 30 by HKUST’s senior management, including Prof. Nancy IP, HKUST President; Prof. GUO Yike, Provost; Prof. Charles NG, Vice-President for Institutional Advancement; Prof. Tim CHENG, Vice-President for Research and Development; and Ir John KWONG, Vice-President for Development.

HKUST and Yiyu Network advance cultural technology innovation and industry-academia-research collaboration
On February 5, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Yiyu Network formalized a donation agreement, marking the beginning of an enduring partnership dedicated to frontier research and talent nurturing.HKUST senior leadership and faculty members in attendance included Prof. Charles NG Wang-Wai, Vice-President for Institutional Advancement; Prof. XU Kun, Head and Chair Professor of the Department of Mathematics; and Prof. CHEN Kani, Professor in both the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Industrial Engineering and Decision Analytics. Student representatives and senior leaders from Yiyu Network were also present.

HKUST Holds Naming Ceremony for Tsang Chiu Sang Tower and Lam Po Yu Tower in Tribute to Alumni's Generous Support
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has received generous donations from alumni Mr. Terry TSANG and Mr. Terence TSANG, to support the University's initiatives in education, research, and student development. In recognition of their longstanding commitment and their parents' selfless contributions to society, the University has proudly named University Residence Tower A as “Tsang Chiu Sang Tower” and Tower B as “Lam Po Yu Tower”. This tribute celebrates the Tsang family’s enduring devotion, perseverance, and lasting bond with the HKUST community.

HKUST Launches AI Literacy Hub in Strategic Collaboration with Solomon Learning Group
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) announced today a strategic collaboration with Solomon Learning Group (Solomon Learning) to establish the AI Literacy Hub (the Hub), a major initiative of artificial intelligence education in Hong Kong.The establishment of the Hub responds to the digital education initiatives outlined in The Chief Executive's 2025 Policy Address, and leverages HKUST's strong capabilities in AI teaching and research, along with Solomon Learning's extensive network, to enhance AI literacy throughout the Hong Kong community.The launching ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Dr. CHOI Yuk-Lin, Secretary for Education of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (via video format); Mr. Antony LEUNG, Chairman and Co-Founder of Solomon Learning; Ms. Alison CHAN, CEO and Co-Founder of Solomon Learning; and Prof. Nancy IP, HKUST President.

The event also marked the formal establishment of the HKUST Top Engineering Scholars Award, made possible by generous donation from Dr. Huang and Mr. Terry TSANG Kin-Chung, an HKUST Council Member and fellow engineering alumnus.
