Making the Impossible Possible
HKUST graduate Frank Wang is thankful for the academic and support from the University, inspiring him to move forward and become a successful entrepreneur in producing unmanned helicopters with myriad applications from fun to functional. An electrical and computer engineering graduate, 2006 BEng (ELEC), 2011 MPhil (ECE) at HKUST, Frank manages to pursue his dream of building flying machines. Today, he is the CEO and CTO of DJI Innovations, a company which is now the global leader in developing and manufacturing high-performance, reliable and easy-to-use small unmanned automated helicopters for commercial and recreational use.

HKUST 2013 One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition Fosters Entrepreneurial Spirit
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) held the annual HKUST One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition with total awards amounting to HK$1 million to foster entrepreneurship. The championship went to Solaris, while Agito Group Limited and Inno-Chemos (International) Technology Limited were the second place and third place winners respectively. This year, 85 teams participated in the Competition. Each team consists of at least one member of faculty, staff, students and alumni from HKUST's schools of Science, Engineering and Business. An international judging panel comprising leading executives, professional investors and entrepreneurial academics selected 12 finalists.

HKUST Organizes 2012 One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition To Foster Entrepreneurial Spirit
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) held the HKUST One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition again this year. Neoid Limited was the champion, while Green ACE and iTorr were the first and second runners-up. The total awards offered by this Competition amounted to HK$1 million. This was the second time HKUST organized the HKUST One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition. 89 teams made up of faculty, staff, students and alumni from the schools of Science, Engineering and Business participated. More than 50 leading executives, professional investors and entrepreneurial academics formed an international judging panel to select 12 finalists after rounds of rigorous competitions.

HKUST first PhD graduate's founding company transferred its listing to HKEx Main Board
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)'s first PhD graduate Dr Jack Lau's founding company Perception Digital Holdings Limited transferred its listing from the GEM Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange to the Main Board and started trading under the new stock code of 1822 last Friday (3 June). Perception Digital is a specialist in technological solutions for consumer electronics and technology commercialization.

HKUST Committed to Fostering Entrepreneurship and Organizes HKUST 2011 Entrepreneurship Competition
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) announced the winners of the HKUST 2011 Entrepreneurship Competition. Wah Kin Holdings Ltd, with its hair-testing technology, clinched the championship, while LEDoS, Allegro IQ and iFlight Technology won the first, second and third runner-up trophies. The total awards offered by this Competition amounted to HK$1 million.
