First HKUST Scholar Wins Top Prize of State Natural Science Award for Outstanding Achievements in Aggregation-induced Emission (AIE)
A research team led by Prof Tang Benzhong – Stephen Kam-chuen Cheong Professor of Science and Chair Professor of Chemistry at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), received the State Natural Science Award (First Class) 2017 from Premier Li Keqiang in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing this morning, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in research on aggregation-induced emission (AIE), and such discovery’s significant contribution to life science, medicine and applied science.

HKUST Graduates Move Up to 12th Worldwide, Tops Greater China In Global Employability University Ranking 2017
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has risen one place to rank 12th worldwide and No. 1 in Greater China in the high-profile annual Global Employability University Ranking this year.  HKUST graduates have been ranked the world’s top 20 most employable and the most employable in Greater China five years in a roll. RMBI Students Won the "Best Business Idea Award" in EY Hackathon Hong Kong 2017
Risk Management and Business Intelligence (RMBI) students won the "Best Business Idea Award" in EY Hackathon Hong Kong 2017 with a flight delay prediction project which was recommended as the highest commercial value project in the competition.

HKUST Robotics Team Wins Nine Robotics Awards Including MATE ROV World Champion
The Robotics Team of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has scooped nine awards this year – including the world championship of the Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) International Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) competition in Long Beach, California – the first Asian team who gained this honor since the game began in 2002. In the MATE contest, the ROV division of HKUST’s Robotics Team Beluga beat 24 competitors from regions across Europe, US, Canada, Asia and Middle East – all champions from their own countries, to gain the world championship and the Safety Conscious Award. This came after another division of the team Fiery Dragon won the Hong Kong Robocon Competition for the 8th time in June.
