Charting New Waters in Service to Society

HKUST and HKUST (GZ) Launch Redbird Cross Campus Study Program
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST(GZ)) jointly launched the "Redbird Cross Campus Study Program" today. The program will promote resource sharing and synergy between the two campuses under the “Unified HKUST, Complementary Campuses” framework, through mechanisms including course sharing, credit transfer and student exchanges in academics, research and social activities.

HKUST Receives HK$150 million Donation from Shaw Foundation And Celebrates Groundbreaking of Shaw Auditorium
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) celebrated today the groundbreaking of its multi-purpose auditorium – a new landmark of the University not only allows hosting of large events, but also adds much needed space for teaching and cultural activities that will enrich the lifestyle and learning experience of students, staff and alumni.
The construction of the multi-purpose auditorium is made possible with a generous donation of HK$150 million from Shaw Foundation Hong Kong. Since the founding of HKUST, the lack of a venue for large-scale events such as the congregation or arts and music performances has caused inconvenience to our community.

Supporting the World Mental Health Day: Mental Health Matters - Promoting Student Mental Health: A State of Well-being
This event serves to support the World Mental Health Day (10 Oct) observed by World Health Organization (WHO). We aim at moving forward to build a connected and united HKUST campus among different stakeholders, to arouse awareness on psychological well-being, and to de-stigmatize the sick role of seeking psychological counseling or treatment when needed.

Supported by Sustainability Unit, Campus Services Office and Facilities Management Office, the student initiated Take-away Box Circular Program that grabbed multiple media?s attention successfully launched last month and engaged more than 400 students and staff to get involved.
