Opening of HKUST Shanghai Center in Xuhui District
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) celebrates the opening of the HKUST Shanghai Center today at the Shanghai AI Tower in the West Bund of the Xuhui District in collaboration with the District’s Government, and the Caohejing Hi-Tech Park Development Corporation. Leveraging its strengths in chips, artificial intelligence and biomedicine, the Center is set to enhance collaboration on innovation and entrepreneurship between Hong Kong and Shanghai.

HKUST and Li & Fung Launch Supply Chain Institute
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Li & Fung, a member of Fung Group, jointly announced today the establishment of the HKUST Li & Fung Supply Chain Institute (the Institute), aimed at advancing research and practices in global supply chain management (SCM) innovation. The Institute brings together HKUST’s research excellence and Li & Fung’s industry expertise in supply chain management to drive real-world impact across the Greater Bay Area, Greater China, Asia, and globally, while contributing to Hong Kong’s development into a multinational supply chain management center — a strategic objective highlighted in the city’s latest Budget. It aims to reach these goals by engaging in collaborative research, developing business intelligence through industry research and policy studies, and fostering talent development through customized executive education and partnership programs.

HKUST Enhances Campus EV Charging Infrastructure to Promote Sustainability
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is investing up to HK$40 million to upgrade 30% of its total parking space with charging capability and related software support for electric vehicles (EV).  The initiative aims to cultivate a sustainable commuting habit and supports emission reduction goals in the HKUST 2028 Sustainability Challenge. HKUST is set to become the most EV-friendly university in Hong Kong with the completion of the EV charging infrastructure enhancement project, which will see approximately 360 parking spaces on campus fitted with medium EV chargers, providing an output power of no less than 7kW. The initiative not only supports the HKSAR Government's Roadmap on Popularization of EVs, but also accelerates opportunities to reduce emissions from University-owned vehicles and indirect emissions from commuting.

HKUST Holds Seventh Inauguration Ceremony of Named Professorships for Outstanding Faculty Members

HKUST Stages Groundbreaking Ceremony for Martin Ka Shing Lee Innovation Building
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) received a generous donation of HK$150 million from Dr. Martin LEE Ka-shing, Chairman of Henderson Land Group, in support of HKUST’s ongoing efforts in innovation and entrepreneurship.  In appreciation of Dr. Lee’s benevolent support, HKUST named the new research building “Martin Ka Shing Lee Innovation Building”.  The University celebrated the groundbreaking of its new research building today. As a new landmark of the University, Martin Ka Shing Lee Innovation Building will provide much-needed additional facilities for multiple disciplines in science and engineering, seeking to bring the University’s research, industrial collaboration and translational activities to the next level.
