The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) hosted a delegation from KTH Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) on April 17 to advance research and education.  HKUST Vice-President for Institutional Advancement Prof. WANG Yang and faculty representatives engaged in a productive discussion with KTH delegation, including Prof. Stefan ÖSTLUND, Vice President for Global Relations; Prof. Per BERGLUND, Deputy Head of the Department of Industrial Biotechnology; and Prof. Urban WESTERGREN, Director of China Relations, School of Engineering Sciences, etc.  This collaborative initiative seeks to strengthen the partnership between HKUST and KTH through enhanced faculty and student exchange programs, providing faculty and students with invaluable opportunities to expand their knowledge and enrich their learning experiences.

KA Sing-Fung, director of Hong Kong movie ‘Lost Love’, credits the scientific training he received while majoring in Chemistry as being hugely beneficial in his creative pursuits.

Kaifong Tour, founded by HKUST alumni, is a social enterprise promoting sustainable tourism and community engagement in Hong Kong.

The university anthem is jointly created by its community and friends to foster members’ sense of belonging and exemplify the spirit and core values of HKUST. 

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), The Joseph Needham Foundation for Science and Civilisation (JNFSC), Needham Research Institute (Cambridge), Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole (JTIPE) of the University of Hong Kong (HKU), and the Faculty of Asian and Middle East Studies of the University of Cambridge joined hands to host a conference titled “Needham’s Dialogical Vision: Understanding Science as a Multi-Civilizational Outcome.”  

The study shows how Hong Kong should address the various pain points facing the regtech sector with a view to strengthening its growth.

HKUST will also use the donation to fund various research initiatives and establish specialist research centers.
