39 Risk Management & Business Intelligence (RMBI) Program students attended the Bloomberg training workshops to acquire skills in using The Bloomberg Terminal which is a popular financial tool to provide real-time financial information.

T&M-DDP invited Mr. Raymond NGAI, Head of IT Infrastructure and Operation Services, The Hong Kong Jockey Club, to share his IT professional work in The Hong Kong Jockey Club, a 130 year old organization, and insights as an angel investor at the Executive Forum on 24 February 2017 with over 100 students.

An inclusive student initiative is building bonds and understanding between the myriad individuals who comprise HKUST Be prepared to go beyond technology, timetables and tests if you talk with a member of “Humans of HKUST”. The project, established and driven by students, conducts far-reaching interviews with a diverse range of HKUST-ers, exploring the culture, background, and personal experiences of individuals across the University’s globalized community. Quotes, moving anecdotes, and thought-provoking views are then shared through Facebook and compiled into an annual book of stories, distributed free on campus.

谢茜嘉，原名何纪秋，是知名的商业电台主持人，主持的节目包括广受欢迎的《叱咤乐坛》及《西加航空》等。然而，当年刚进科大修读化学时，她仍是一个害羞和文静的女孩，从未考虑过在广播界发展事业。 谢茜嘉表示：「考进科大的时候，我还是相当文静和害羞，但宿舍生活让我接触到各式各样的人，使我变得开朗和外向。」当年攻读理科学位之时，她亦副修文化研究和逻辑思考等科目，因而初次接触流行文化。毕业后，她原先于一家药业公司任职，其后因缘际会参加了商业电台主办的DJ选拔赛，并成为电台节目主持人。这个决定从此改写了她的事业。 今天，谢茜嘉已是一位穿梭世界各地的旅游达人，曾出版多本书籍，并为电视主持旅游节目，介绍各地的异国风情。她表示：「修读哪一个科目并不重要，最重要是扩阔自己的视野，因此（年轻同学）不应为自己订立任何框架，或者局限自己的理想。」 原名李澄的「西瓜」也是广受欢迎的商台节目主持人，主持以年轻人和学生为对象的《早安，同学早！》，以及主打环球流行音乐的《太阳从西瓜升起》。西瓜是主修市场学的工商管理毕业生，同时也是香港歌星林姗姗的女儿。毕业后，她原本到商台应征市场推广职位，但结果却获聘出任一个商台有份参与的社企项目的创作职位。勇于挑战自己的西瓜欣然接受。 及后成为主持人，西瓜一直学以致用，透过清晰的意念、简明扼要的表达、了解目标听众，以及每年自我评估等方法，提升个人竞争力及听众群的忠诚度。西瓜指出：「（年轻同学应该）时常思考进步的空间，并设法提高自己的竞争力。 」 谢茜嘉和西瓜的故事原载于2016年冬季《科大校友通讯》。

With the support of Hong Kong Jockey Club and IBM Global Business Services (IBM GBS), 2016 fall term's Corporate Project "Go Paperless" is to help change work habits by reducing paper consumption in Hong Kong Jockey Club business units. The project aims at providing students with hands-on experience in solving complex real business problems and polishing their advanced skills in strategic thinking and executive communication.

IPO provides students with daily selected fruits in supporting of their battle in Fall term examination.

Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management (T&M-DDP) invited Dr. Benjamin LI, Chief Executive Officer of Lee's Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited to share his research and start-up journey of his pharmacy empire at the Executive Forum on 23 September 2016. Over 100 students joined the forum and got insight in biopharmaceutical industry.

Around 80 mentors and students attended the Risk Management and Business Intelligence Program (RMBI) Mentoring Dinner to kick-start the Mentorship Program on 25 October 2016.
