宮頸癌|科大團隊首創治療宮頸癌前病變陰道凝膠 料2031年推出冀讓病人萬元治癌

A team from led by LIFS Assoc. Prof. LIANG Chun, has developed a vaginal gel that inhibits DRIPs for cervical precancerous lesions. The gel selectively induces apoptosis of abnormal cancer cells and precancerous lesions while protecting healthy tissues. Set for release in 2031, the entire course of treatment is expected to cost approximately HK$10,000.

AI-powered tool reconstructs missing data to predict coastal oceans' health

A research team led by OCES Head and Chair Prof. GAN Jianping and MATH Prof. YANG Can has developed the STIMP, a novel AI-powered tool for diagnosing coastal ocean productivity and ecosystem health.  In tests across four representative global coastal regions, STIMP significantly outperformed existing geoscience tools, reducing the imputation MAE (mean absolute error) by up to 81.39% and prediction AME by 58.99%.

HKUST and Sino Group officially launched the finals of the 15th HKUST-SINO One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition. The winning teams will share over HK$1 million in seed funding to help realize their ambitions. The milestone anniversary features a record-breaking 348 teams from HK and 22 countries and regions across five continents.

HKUST SBM and Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business (NUGSB) in Kazakhstan have signed an MoU to launch a joint Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program in Eurasian business, the first of its kind in Asia.  This partnership will help solidify HK's position as a global talent hub, catalyze the talent flow between HK and Central Asia, as well as driving shared growth, innovation and cross-cultural understanding.

Head of HKUST's Institute for Financial Research (IFR), Prof. TANG Bo and Matrixport’s Head of Matrixdock platform, Ms. Eva MENG,  released a joint research report titled "Tokenized Gold: Redefining Financial Infrastructure for the World's Oldest and Most Trusted Asset Class".  The report examines efficiency challenges of the new financial paradigm, highlighting how gold tokenization can underpin emerging financial architecture.
