The visit reinforced HK's role as a vital bridge for scientific and technological collaboration between Sweden and China.
A team from led by LIFS Assoc. Prof. LIANG Chun, has developed a vaginal gel that inhibits DRIPs for cervical precancerous lesions. The gel selectively induces apoptosis of abnormal cancer cells and precancerous lesions while protecting healthy tissues. Set for release in 2031, the entire course of treatment is expected to cost approximately HK$10,000.
A research team led by OCES Head and Chair Prof. GAN Jianping and MATH Prof. YANG Can has developed the STIMP, a novel AI-powered tool for diagnosing coastal ocean productivity and ecosystem health. In tests across four representative global coastal regions, STIMP significantly outperformed existing geoscience tools, reducing the imputation MAE (mean absolute error) by up to 81.39% and prediction AME by 58.99%.
HKUST and Sino Group officially launched the finals of the 15th HKUST-SINO One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition. The winning teams will share over HK$1 million in seed funding to help realize their ambitions.
