Education does not only take place in classrooms. At HKUST, we encourage students to understand the world better by taking a step closer to those who are underprivileged. After visiting Fresh Fish Traders’ School, Tan Jing Jing from SHSS would like to share reflections about her feelings and learnings in this visit. TAN Jing Jing, SHSS, Year 1 I was very pleased that I could take part in “Back to School Tour: Visit to Fresh Fish Traders’ School” which was held by Student Housing Residential Life Office on 13 November 2015. Different from other voluntary activities, this time we had the chances to come up with creative ideas to interact with the local primary students. After joining this activity, I got some insight and understood the lives of local primary school students.

Nearly 40 high school applicants of the Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management (T&M-DDP) joined the Industry Forum and Dinner on 8 June 2016, and had an insightful exchange with industry leader, faculty, alumni and current students.

Around 25 Risk Management & Business Intelligence (RMBI) Program students attended a training workshop at Bloomberg to acquire skills in using The Bloomberg Terminal which is a popular financial tool to provide real-time financial information.

"Solve for Happy" Workshop was held at HKUST, for the first time in Hong Kong, on 19 March 2016 and gathered over 100 participants to explore the ultimate solution to happiness.

Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management (T&M-DDP) Reunion Party is held annually to strengthen connections between students, alumni, staff and faculty. This year, around 130 students, alumni, faculty and staff joined the Annual Party on 12 March 2016.

Division of Environment (ENVR) has held winter camp annually since 2013 for students to understand more about environmental issues with first-hand experience from a lively perspective. This year, "I'M LOVING EAT" ENVR Winter Camp brought students through a journey of fair trade and food waste recycling from 6 to 8 January 2016.ÿ

Peer Counselor Training Program aims at equipping a group of dedicated and respectful students to reach out to their peers who are in need of support, encouragement, companionship and resource information on campus.
